WORKSHOP 1
Using Wave-Optical Analysis and Design Software VirtualLab in Industrial and Scientific Applications
Author:
Hagen Schimmel, LightTrans GmbH, Wildenbruchstraße 15, 07745 Jena, Germany.
Wave-optical analysis and design methods of optical systems have got an increasing importance during the last decades. Commercial optics software enables fast innovations in optics. For wave-optical analysis and design simulation software using modern modelling concepts is needed. The workshop will introduce the simulation software VirtualLab(TM) 2.2 and its abilities for scientific and industrial research and applications. Within the workshop the concepts of wave-optical modelling will be explained. It follows the demonstration of wave-optical analysis on examples of lens systems for laser beam focusing and non-paraxial laser beam shaping. Additional the principles of wave-optical design will be demonstrated on the example of the diffractive beam splitter design.
Every participant has computer access allowing to do various simulation themselves.
At the end of the workshop an overview of new features of VirtualLab(TM) 3.0 will follow. This overview includes new analysis functions of optical systems with LED's, thermal point sources, partial coherent light sources and ultra short pulses.
WORKSHOP 2

Programmable Diffractive Optics Workshop - 7. September 2005 - Warsaw, Poland

HOLOEYE Photonics AG invites you to the Programmable Diffractive Optics Workshop at the Diffractive Optics conference 2005 (www.do2005.org) in Warsaw, Poland. The workshop is focussed on the different Spatial Light Modulator technologies and the use of Spatial Light Modulators as programmable DOEs. The workshop will cover the following topics:

  • Spatial Light Modulator technologies
  • Microdisplay technology in technical optics
  • System integration, requirements of Programmable DOEs in optical systems
  • Modelling of optical systems that include SLMs
  • SLMs as design tool in diffractive optics
  • Diffractive Optics and Spatial Light Modulators in educational optics
  • Applications of Programmable DOEs

The Programmable Diffractive Optics Workshop at the DO 2005 is the continuation of the workshop organized at the DO 2003 in Oxford. The aim of the workshop is to inform and to discuss about different technologies and to present the applications in various fields of photonic technology.

If you want to attend the Programmable Diffractive Optics 2005 workshop, please use the registration form to register.
