| Over 10 years the development of diffractive optics has been of special
concern in the Journal of Modern Optics. Besides numerous papers in regular
issues, up-to-date research and development results were published in five
special issues on diffractive optics in 1993, 1996, 1998, 2000, and 2002.
In the next special issue, which appeared in 2004 the subject area has been
generalised to 'Wave-Optical Engineering' to reflect most recent trends.
This way is asumed also for the next special issue, which is
planned in 2006. With this special issue on
"Wave-optical engineering and diffractive optics"authors are invited to present their research on the application of
physical optics to the analysis and design of optical elements and systems. |
